"Medication that Can Cause Falls in Older Adults" is a perfect example of a paper on drug therapy. Treatment of diseases and conditions is based on the diagnosis of technology employed in the treatment. As the body gets older, it develops a weaker system against the challenges of health. The changes in health that the body faces may be a key component in the treatment of illnesses. Numerous conditions and diseases arise with age such as bone health and structure conditions, which develop, with age (Rubenstein & Josephson, 2002).
There are symptoms that can be defined in illness with the development of the human body with age. The elderly face challenges in numerous aspects such as the medication used, as with the body aging it develops minimized levels of hormones and body particles. Research that has been conducted on the elderly has shown that with an increase in the medication taken, the risk of falling ill increases. The medication that is taken by the elderly has to consider the elements such as the strength of the body, the perceptivity that the involved persons face upon taking medication.
The medication that is prescribed by the medical field lay in that the medication often increases the defense of the body, which destabilizes the balance of the body. The content in the medicine that is uptaken by the body destabilizes the natural order of the body in dealing with the conditions associated with age. Different medication that is often prescribed to the elderly such as the sleeping drugs and painkillers has been recorded making the patients woozy or confused. The medication thus is a risk to the elderly in that it disorients them from the side effects that are associated with the medication. The drugs thus often result in possible hazards in the family such as the risks of falling and causing bodily harm.
The risks of falling that are associated with destabilizing the elderly have resulted in researchers concentrating on a nine-group medicine (Rubenstein & Josephson, 2002). Often the taking of medicine that physicians have enlisted as having extreme side effects that are hard to determine and establish per individual and thus the risk the medication it poses to the patients is hard to determine with the involved parties ascribing to a specific group of common effects. Medication that is common to the failing of the elderly is the psychotic group of medicine.
Often the elderly suffer from conditions that require antipsychotic medication which need the influence of other medication. The antipsychotic medication has several risks in which the elderly may face disorientation and falling. The condition of the mind such as illnesses associated with a defect of the brain cells often leads to destabilization of the elderly.
The medication involved in the process often leads to the involved parties getting side effects from antidepressants, which when taken often has side effects that fail the elderly. Any taking of medication by a normal human being, irrespective of age results in a destabilization of the body balance. The balance of the body incorporates elements such as hormones and cells, such cells produced by the body in the company of artificially included hormones and chemicals result in a fight between the foreign material, medication, and the body.
Such a controversy between body and medication often places the elderly body at risk of failing since the included elements often result in maximizing or minimizing the produced body particles and fluids thereby affecting the balance of the body pacing the elderly at risk.
