"Use of ICNP as Standard Nursing Terminology" is an engrossing example of a paper on care. The International Classification for Nursing Practice otherwise known as ICNP is a term used to define a program that consists of over one hundred and twenty member nations (Furtado et al. , 2013). The role of this organization is to provide a common framework for individuals in the nursing practice by defining the roles that a nurse must serve and the nature of their care in numerous environments. In essence, the program labels different aims and objectives for the nursing practice and the actions that nurses are required to take.

In short, the terminologies that are defined by this program include actions, diagnoses, and potential outcomes. The why these terminologies were comprised was through a comparison between the different concepts that existed in nursing terminologies (Furtado et al. , 2013). In summation, the ICNP can be considered as a combination of terminologies that provides a united framework that involves the standardization of nursing classifications and vocabularies into one language that creates the possibility of cross-mapping and comparison among organizations in the nursing field (Furtado et al. , 2013). Importance of standardized terminology There are several important factors that are associated with the creation of standardized terminologies.

One of the main features is that it enables the comparison between the nursing data that is gathered from different settings, clinical populations, time and even contrasting geographic spheres. The standardized terminologies have created the possibilities for nursing organizations to also assess the progress that has been made in the field and illustrate the areas that are making the most progress. This can help in determining which policies are successful and can be implemented in areas that are not showing similar success rates.

The program is also essential and helpful in the illustration of nursing trends and hence enables the different organizations to allocate resources according to the exact needs of the patients. By providing data and terminology that is standardized, ICNP both stimulates and improves the research process in nursing as this makes it easier to carry out as well as more accurate when comparing organizations in different countries (Garcia et al. , 2009). Impact of standardized terminologies on different spheres The ICNP also benefits many other organizations in different spheres that are involved with nursing.

In administration, it is easier for the organization of data and its comparison with other organizations. Hence, this makes it easier to categorize patients that were received from different hospitals or even countries. Individuals in the field also do not have difficulties in adjusting to the system when they change jobs and move to different hospitals or countries. This in essence improves the quality of the administrative process and also reduces the potential medical errors that may occur.

In terms of education, as mentioned above, the program will stimulate and simplify the research process as it provides the trends in the field and the potential research areas that are easily identified. The practice will also be improved as there are better policies implemented due to the results are attained from the data comparison between different countries which may be using different approaches. The standards will also be improved as the process shows the areas that are not effective and possess poor outcomes.
