Watson's theory of caring was indispensable because it encompassed the patient-nurse relationships and the manner in which it extends beyond objective assessment.

In addition, her theory would be vital in establishing an imperative caring relationship, creating mutual relations with patients, and comprehending individuals’ perspectives. Moreover, Watson's theory addresses pertinent issues in the nursing profession about health care. The theory encourages a caring environment that appreciates humanity within the society despite their nature and societal role. In addition, the theory was essential in examining and understanding the inherent potential of patients and their great future. Watson also used important meta-paradigm concepts that are highly applicable in nursing practice within contemporary society.

The meta-paradigm concepts that remained relevant to current trends in nursing practice include health, the human being, and nursing. Understanding the meta paradigm concepts would be vital in research that aims at establishing a connection between, nursing, health care, environment, and human beings (Fitzpatrick and McCarthy, 2014). Furthermore, Watson's theory provides numerous opportunities for research in health care within the nursing profession. For instance, the theory does not discuss the environmental contribution to the art of caring for patients. It would be essential to conduct plausible research on the perceived connection between the environment and nurse-patient interaction.

In addition, research on the influence of environmental factors on healing and development of patients coupled with Watson’ s model of health care. Moreover, the theory would be vital in establishing the fundamental basis of curative factors in caring science theory (Ondrejka and Barnard, 2011). The model diagram of Watson’ s theory and its applications in the nursing profession relates to creative factors including sensitivity to others and self, the establishment of a helping trust relationship, and individualized problem-solving techniques.

Care coordination and transformational leadership concepts in the diagram relate to concepts of establishing a trustworthy relationship with patients by nursing professionals. Resource allocation outlined in the diagram details creative factors that involve the assistance of human needs. Caring coordination addressed in the diagram helps in elucidating Watson’ s implication of transpersonal caring relationship.
